The City of East Ellijay is located approx. 70 miles north of Atlanta and is located on Ga. Hwy 515.
The physical address for the East Ellijay City Hall is 107 East Oak Street, East Ellijay, Georgia 30540. Business Hours for city hall are Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 4:00pm.
The city has a population of less than 700, however it serves as the commercial center for Gilmer County.
The city is governed by a Mayor and four person City Council.
The city has a regularly scheduled council meeting on the third Wednesday of every month at 3:00pm at the East Ellijay City Hall.
The city has several departments/divisions to serve the citizens and visitors to the city. These include Public Safety, City Planning and Zoning, Code Enforcement, Building Inspection, Municipal Court, and Street Departments.
